A 26-year veteran of the industry, Derek Gillette says he has few regrets. One of them, however, has been not taking the time to properly enjoy what he does. “If you're not having fun in your business, success is so much harder,” he says. “Don’t take things so seriously. It’s an amazing business, and with the right people around it makes all the difference.”
For Gillette, excellence is a state of mind, one he shares with his wife, Debbie, who he says has been instrumental in establishing Gillette’s private boutique office as one of the most trusted in Nanaimo.
