Especially in an area defined by its proximity to cottage country, agents like Baumgartner need to be able to respond to the seasonal highs and lows affecting inventory. “You have to adapt to the challenges of access to properties and constantly keep in touch with buyers and sellers to maintain a steady business,” she says.
It’s that flexibility, along with her creativity and aggressive pursuit of the deal, that has made Baumgartner such a hit with clients in Haliburton. She hopes to expand her clientele in 2019 by further concentrating on the luxury segment of the market. And she’s off to a fine start: In 2018, she posted her local MLS board’s highest waterfront sales on two of the area’s most prestigious lakes.
