When Sandra Kirkland broke into the industry in 2006, she knew she wanted to do more than just sell. In 2017, armed with a decade’s worth of experience and a desire to make her mark, she became managing broker of Royal LePage Real Estate Services, one of the company’s most established branches, becoming one of the youngest full-time, independent managing brokers in the industry. In 2018 she was the recipient of the OREA Young Professionals Award for Leadership.
As a young professional and a woman, Kirkland says she faced an uphill battle when first taking on her increased responsibilities as managing broker. But her hardnosed determination quickly had her doubters singing a different tune. “Being a woman doesn't hold you back. Being young doesn't hold you back,” she says. “You hold you back. If you want to do great things, stand up and do great things.”
